Up just before noon today, and started the afternoon with the usual computer time. I also cleared a portion of the eternal pile of papers off my desk, something I haven't done in a while. And I started some laundry, so I guess the day got off to a brisk start. That's always a good feeling.
In the middle of the afternoon, I went out to run some errands -- mainly picking some things up at the drugstore -- and I got caught in what turned out to be a truly torrential downpour. The drains in the roads were having trouble keeping up with the volume of rain, and more than once I worried that the water was deep enough that I wouldn't be able to drive through it. Still, I made it home in one piece, albeit slightly soaked. Which is good, because after a brief break in the weather, we had a major thunderstorm with hail. But by that time I was safely inside.
In the evening, I finished up with my laundry and then spent some time updating my LiveJournal (which continues to fall behind). I prepared a roast leg of lamb with potatoes for dinner, and that came out pretty well. By the time we were done with dinner, I was really dragging, probably due to the fact that I didn't have a nap today. So I think I'll be off to bed early tonight. I have to work at the book store tomorrow, but I don't have to be up early to open it, so I can sleep in a little.
