Up early for subbing after a bad night. The first signs that I'm getting sick emerged in the early hours of the morning: fever, chills, and a bad cough. Still, I hauled myself out of bed and off to the high school to our south for another day of subbing for the choir director. Today was the regional choir festival, so students were in and out all day in various groupings, but the choir teacher and the volunteer chaperones took care of most of that traffic. So again, another easy day. Which is good, because I felt like crap.
It actually started snowing in the morning shortly after I arrived at the school, and it didn't let up at all during the day. It was heavy, wet snow too, that made the roads less than safe. School ended up getting out some fifteen minutes early, ostensibly so that the students who drove their own cars in would have some extra time to get safely home or to work. Suits me fine. There were maybe three students present for the last class of the day -- the rest were at the choir festival -- so it was no great loss.
I stopped by the grocery store for some supplies on my way back home, and once I was home I spent the usual time online and then took a nap. I was still feeling pretty lousy in the evening, so I prepared myself a mild dinner of eggs on toast. Which I threw up shortly afterwards. Yeah, I'm definitely sick. Thankfully, I also got a phone call this evening informing me that my subbing assignment tomorrow has been cancelled because the schools will be closed. So I can rest up a little. All signs point to an early bedtime tonight, and I hope I'm feeling better tomorrow.
