Up mid-morning, in time to see queenmomcat off to a last-minute appointment with our doctor. She seems to have developed yet another infection, which is bad. In any case, I spent some time online and started some laundry. About noon, I put a rack of ribs in the slow cooker, which is our food experiment for the week. Shortly thereafter, queenmomcat came home with a prescription for more antibiotics. Someday, hopefully, her innards will recover.
Today's mail included a copy of the latest issue of bottle rockets with two of my haiku in it, which was nice. This afternoon also brought some snow, which we haven't seen much of this winter. It continued through the evening. I also ended up taking a nice nap this afternoon, as usual.
I had a little time online this evening before getting dinner ready, and I spent most of it updating my LiveJournal, which is falling further and further behind. Dinner itself was a bit of a challenge: the ribs pretty much disintegrated coming out of the slow cooker, and I had a bit of a time collecting the pieces for the last part of the cooking process. In the end, I was able to get the fragments together to be doused with barbeque sauce and broiled for a while before serving. It came out very well in the end, and I have to keep this cooking process in mind for when it's too cold out to grill ribs.
And now it's looking like we'll be headed to bed late. Tomorrow I have a subbing assignment, but I should be rested enough for it. It's been a good day -- at least for me, not so much for queenmomcat -- and I intend to get a good night's sleep tonight. More tomorrow, as events warrant.
