I had a very bad, very restless night last night, and I had to force myself to get up early this morning to bring my car into the garage. Unfortunately, that didn't happen: short after breakfast I started throwing up, and after both the wet and dry heaves were over, I called in to rescheduled my appointment with the mechanics. I sat up a little while waiting for my stomach to settle, and I even balanced the checkbook and paid some bills, but eventually I crawled back into bed for several hours.
In the afternoon, after I got back up again for the day, I had some mac and cheese, and it stayed down okay. Still, I didn't put any pressure on myself. I started reading All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders, which is an ARC I have for work, and I'm enjoying it so far. It's a fantasy/science fiction/Millennial romance mashup, and I'm finding it pleasantly clever.
In the evening, we got out and heated up the pork chili from last night, and despite some worries on my part, we had it for dinner tonight. My worries proved unfounded -- my stomach appears to have recovered from whatever was bothering it this morning -- and it stayed down, although I do have a little bit of heartburn right now. We'll see if that interrupts my sleep tonight.
