Up mid-morning, and I puttered about the hotel room while queenmomcat went off for a much-anticipated spa treatment. I tried doing some reading for work, but nothing came of that, which is annoying, as usual. I have a good-sized pile of books I need to read for our next Top Twenty and and Author event, and I really need to get started on them.
Anyways, after queenmomcat got back from being pampered, we went for lunch at Bijan's Bistro, and on the way back to the hotel we swung at After-Words Books because we can't make a trip to Chicago without visiting at least one book store. I picked up some poetry, and queenmomcat found some miscellaneous books she wanted.
I spent most of the rest of the afternoon napping, although we did go out briefly for a grocery run as evening approached. For dinner, we had sushi at Oysy: a big sampler platter, so that queenmomcat could eat as much as her appetite allowed with me taking care of the rest. It worked out well.
And now we're looking at an early bedtime again. I'm really starting to decompress from the holiday and post-holiday work season, which is good. If I could only get my act together about reading, this trip would be ideal.
