I did not get a good night's sleep last night, and finally gave up and got out of bed mid-morning, but that didn't matter as much as it could have because I only really had one major thing scheduled today. And it turns out I was able to get a lot of other stuff done anyways.

So, this morning, I unpacked from last weekend's trip, started some laundry, balanced the checkbook, and paid some bills. I also picked up a subbing assignment for tomorrow and made Amtrak reservations for our next opera trip during my usual morning internet peregrinations. I also went out grocery shopping with queenmomcat. And then it was on to today's scheduled main event.

We were supposed to take Zazu in for her annual vet visit, but she hid under the futon we use as a sofa and wouldn't come out, so we took Bongo in for his first visit to our vet. (His appointment was scheduled for tomorrow, so this wasn't as much of stretch as it seems.) We got him trapped in the bedroom upstairs, and after a considerable struggle we got him in the carrier. He did not go quietly: turns out, when he wants to, Bongo can be extremely vocal. He yelled all the way to the vet, while at the vet, and all the way home, only quieting down when he was safely out of the carrier and back upstairs. He got a clean bill of health at least, and we won't have to do that again with him until next year. We'll try again with Zazu tomorrow.

Anyways, after that excitement, I took a nice, long nap. In the evening I worked on updating my LiveJournal, with a break in the middle to go get and eat Chinese takeaway for dinner. Soon I will be off to bed. Tomorrow will be a busy day, between subbing and taking Zazu to the vet, so I need some sleep.
