Up mid-morning, and eventually off to the middle school to our south for a half-day subbing assignment. I taught two classes of sixth-grade English and then helped out in the art room (for classes of sixth graders as well). The art room part of the day was kind of fun: the students were making fish prints. There were dead fish (and some rubber fish for those who didn't want to handle a real fish for whatever reason) at work stations around the room, and students were to brush them with various colors of paint and press a piece of paper onto them to make a print. It was interesting to watch on a number of levels.
I stopped by the book store on the way back home to pick up my paycheck, and once I was back home I spent some time on the computer and then took my usual nap. After waking up, I did some dishes and then went out and brought home some Chinese takeaway for dinner. Over dinner, queenmomcat and I made arrangements to see one additional opera this season at the Lyric: Wozzeck. I bought the opera tickets online and made the train reservations, while queenmomcat took care of the hotel. (It isn't a matinee, so we'll have to stay over.) And now we're looking at a late bed time. I actually have tomorrow off, which is unusual for a Saturday, so I can sleep in before going grocery shopping.
