Up late morning today, and after a desultory early afternoon, queenmomcat drove me out to the oral surgeon's practice to have my right lower rear molar pulled. She's been to this oral surgeon a number of time, and she's had good luck with him, so I wasn't worried going in. And it turns out I was right: it was a quick and painless process. He even managed to inject me with Novocaine or the equivalent without it hurting, which is nothing short of amazing. In any case, once the tooth was out, I got a good look at it, and I'm surprised I wasn't in more pain while it was in place: it was pretty decayed around the root. They packed the hole left behind with gauze and sent me home about half an hour after I arrived.

On the way home we stopped by the pharmacy to drop off a prescription for antibiotics the oral surgeon had written, and then we stopped by the grocery store for, among other things, lunch. Back home, the Novocaine or equivalent started to wear off, but my jaw really didn't hurt that much. In fact, even now that the drugs have fully faded, I'm not in any significant pain. This is a good thing.

Anyways, I spent the rest of the afternoon and the early evening online, including working on updating on updating my LiveJournal, taking a break to order pizza for dinner. After dinner, I took a nap, and now I'm awake for just a few minutes to take my evening medications and so forth before going back to bed. I have another subbing assignment tomorrow, but it's not until late in the morning, so I can sleep in a bit.

{oral surgeon} is that good. I mean, we are in East Podunk, Michigan...but I wouldn't qualify his work for that.
