Not a very exciting day today, but a pleasantly relaxing one, which I suppose is what I should hope for out of what is essentially a vacation week. In any case, I got up mid-morning, and spent part of my morning paging through various section of the Sunday New York Times. This week's magazine section didn't have an acrostic in its puzzle array, so I didn't get to do that, but so it goes.
After walking dogs with my mom, I settled in and finished reading Lovecraft Country (26/6,377). It's an interesting book. As I mentioned before, it's not entirely Lovecraftian, and it reads more as a collection of short stories than the novel it's billed as, but I enjoyed it a lot. It twisted a lot of standard horror tropes in ways that made for interesting reading.
After that, I took a nap, and in the evening I perused more of the New York Times. And now I'm thinking bedtime. queenmomcat and I head back home tomorrow, but not until the afternoon, so it's almost as if we get another day of visiting. But for now, sleep.
