Up early this morning, and with queenmomcat and my dad off to Saratoga Springs to see my brother, who at the moment is back east curating an exhibit at the Tang Museum at his alma mater, Skidmore College. He was pretty busy, but he gave us a quick tour of the exhibit and we chatted for a while, which was nice, given that it tends to be years between times I get to see him. It was a long trip down and back, but the fall foliage and general scenery along the way made the drive a pretty one.
Back home, we had chili for dinner, and then I actually did some work: I wrote out my review of Lafayette in the Somewhat United States and e-mailed it to the book store, and while I was online I picked up a subbing assignment for the week we get back. So I'm feeling vaguely productive this evening. I also decided that for my next reading book I'm going to go with Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff. This one is an ARC I picked up at work, but I'm reading it for fun. I'll get back to my required reading later.
