Up late morning, but still with enough time to pack and check out of the hotel on time. As is usual on our last day of a Chicago trip, queenmomcat and I had time to kill before our train, so we took the El up to Wicker Park for bookstores and lunch. I actually didn't buy any books today -- nothing really caught my eye -- and the restaurant we had planned to eat at was closed today. We ended up trying out a new place: Pint, which was essentially a good bar with decent food. We may go back, we may not, but it was good for lunch today.
After lunch, we went to a coffee shop and had something caffeinated to drink. I also started reading another book for work: The Z Murders by J. Jefferson Farjeon, which is part of the British Library Crime Classics series. It's enjoyable so far, if a bit twee in places, and I will be willing to recommend it Tuesday evening at our next Top Twenty and an Author event.
After that, it was back to the hotel and then off to the train station. We arrived quite a bit earlier than we needed to, but queenmomcat is still feeling sick and wasn't up to much more running about the city. (She has an appointment tomorrow morning with the doctor to see what's going on.) In any case, the train left on time and arrived back home only ten minutes or so late.
We came back to our house and a pair of anxious cats, and since then I've been online catching up and doing a few things around the house. It'll be a late night tonight, and we have to be up early tomorrow, but judging how I feel at the moment, I should sleep well.
