Up late morning, and it was another miserably hot and humid day today. I'm very thankful for air conditioning at the moment -- it's the only thing that enabled me to be at all functional today. I spent my usual time online and then did some dishes, which I think puts me ahead of yesterday for productivity, and that was only the beginning of the day.

Mid-afternoon, I drove queenmomcat to her first radiation treatment. It took about forty-five minutes, and I read more of The Incarnations while I was waiting. I suspect I'm going to get a lot more reading done than usual in September with these daily radiation appointments.

Back home afterwards, I worked some more on updating my LiveJournal and then put together and sent off three poetry submission packets. A lot of college- and university-based publications reopened for submissions today, and I took advantage of that. I also did some more dishes. So a very good day on the getting stuff done front.

Even though we went out to dinner last night, queenmomcat and I decided to eat out again tonight, this time at the posh local restaurant in celebration of our wedding anniversary. The actual anniversary day was August 21st, which is the last full day we spent in Washington for our recent visit. We're fans of making most personal festivals (birthdays, anniversaries) movable feasts in any case, so it was not big deal to celebrate today, about a week and a half late.

It's been a quiet evening around here since, and we'll probably head off to bed late tonight. I have the weekdays off this week (and next week, and the week after), so things will probably be boring in here for a while. All my poetry packets are currently out, I have trouble reading at home, and I can't seem to get any writing done, so expect a series of entries about naps and domestic tasks interspersed with queenmomcat's radiation appointments. Oh well. My life has never been very exciting.
