Last night was a rough one -- neither queenmomcat nor I are very relaxed when we're due to travel -- and we had to get up early this morning to catch an early ferry. After that initial hump, though, things went very smoothly. The ferry was on time, a taxi met us on the shore and took us to the airport, and checking in was quick and painless. Even security went quickly, which is almost unheard of.
Our flight from Seattle to Atlanta took off on time and actually got in a little early, which left us plenty of time to get dinner and then get to our gate for the trip back to South Bend. That flight was uneventful, as was our drive home. Our catsitter actually stayed up until we got home because she wanted to tell us the good news that Zazu actually socialized with her a bit while we were away, which had never happened before. (Bongo, apparently, was very social.)
Back inside at the end of the day, we discovered that a cat or both cats had been chasing down mice or bugs or something around my CD racks, leaving CDs scattered all over the floor for me to clean up. Oh well. I was feeling very tired, but I managed to get things tidied up before collapsing completely. And now, to bed, very late but glad to be home. It was a good trip, but I'm eager to get into my own bed now.
