Up early, and did some last-minute cleaning and vacuuming before driving down to the South Bend airport. Our first flight of the day -- South Bend to Minneapolis -- was delayed for about half an hour due to mechanical problems, but we had a long layover in Minneapolis so it wasn't really a problem. The flight from Minneapolis to Seattle was on time, but it was overheated, so we were both feeling cranky and a little ill (a lot ill in queenmomcat's case) by the time we landed and picked up our luggage.
In any case, we took a taxi to the ferry dock and the ferry to our destination, and by the time we stepped off onto Vashon we were feeling somewhat better. It helps that the weather was very pleasant: warm, but not humid, and with a nice breeze. It also helps that we were eventually greeted by out niece and nephew and their mother, who are also here to visit this week.
We had a nice family dinner of meatloaf and potatoes, and then we crawled back to our little cabin for an early bedtime. Traveling out west is always more than a little exhausting, and we need some sleep. At least we don't have anything scheduled for the next few days.
