Up very early this morning to get to the hospital on time to check queenmomcat in at 7:00 AM. I gathered from her later that intake was not as smooth this time as last, in no small part because of some cluelessness on the part of the nurses. If we have to do this again (God forbid!), I may ask to go in with her to help smooth out communications problems and generally keep queenmomcat calmer.
Anyways, I ran into the husband of one of queenmomcat's former coworkers in the surgery waiting room, and I spent most of my waiting time catching up with him. I also read a little of Capital Crimes, which is a collection of Golden Age English mystery stories set in London. I have it in the form of an ARC from work, but I'm reading it for fun, not as an assignment.
queenmomcat and I left the hospital just around noon, and we promptly went out and got something to eat at our favorite local breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. Then we drove home and made phone calls and sent e-mails to update various people as to queenmomcat's condition. After that, I spent a little time online before going back to bed for a much-needed nap.
Later in the afternoon, I went to the pharmacy to fill a prescription for painkillers for queenmomcat, but they quoted me a two-hour wait time so I came back home instead of staying. In the early evening, I went back and picked up the prescription and then got us some gyros for dinner. Since then it's been a quiet evening, and I think we're both going to go to bed early tonight. It's been a long day.
