Up mid-morning, and actually drove myself to work today: it was raining, and my ankle is still really sore. I worked from noon to 8:00 PM close, and it was a reasonably good day. It was a little quiet in places, but never for very long, and during those quiet times I had the usual run of small tasks to do around the store.
After work, I walked two doors down from the book store to the Mediterranean deli and picked up some gyros for dinner at queenmomcat's request. While waiting for those to be prepared, I started reading In a Dark, Dark Wood, a thriller by Ruth Ware that (of course) I have in ARC form.
I drove home with my gyros, and queenmomcat and I had a quiet dinner and have spent a mellow evening since then. On good thing to come out of today, something that has us both giving a sigh of relief, is that the Supreme Court upheld the insurance subsidy provisions of the Affordable Care Act today. If they hadn't, we might have found ourselves out of insurance, or being insured at a greatly increased rate, just at a point when we needed it the most. So that puts a little much-needed cheer into the works. And now to bed.
