For the last several weeks, Bongo has been hiding somewhere upstairs -- presumably in the cabinets beneath the sink in the former kitchen -- coming out at night to eat and use the litter box. Last night he apparently decided with that we were safe to be around or that enough was simply enough: he came out and spent most of the night wandering about the upstairs yelling. He even came into the bedroom a few times and submitted to petting, but never for very long. Anyways, due to his vocalizations, we didn't get much sleep last night, but it's nice to see him coming out of his shell.
I got up mid-morning today and promptly drove down to the local phlebotomist to have some blood drawn for my next visit to the doctor. Then queenmomcat and I went out to brunch. Back home, I spent some time online and then lay down for a quick nap. Bongo actually emerged again and even climbed up on the bed with me for pettins, although only for a minute or so. Baby steps.
I walked in to work, where I was scheduled for a 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM closing shift. I did some more publicity work (adding posters to the easel we put out front of the store), put some books into purchase orders, and waited on customers. It was a good evening, but I needed a ride home at the end because my ankle started flaring up again.
Earlier in the day, I had helped queenmomcat put together a pot roast dinner in the slow cooker, and we enjoyed that after I got home. We'll be headed off to bed late tonight, which is a bit annoying, as I have to get up early tomorrow to open the book store. Oh well.
