Not a good day, although considerable worse for queenmomcat than me: I'm just sort of a bystander here. Bottom line: the doctor this morning told us that queenmomcat does indeed have breast cancer: ductal carcinoma in situ, non-invasive so far, stage zero. The news could, of course, have been worse, but queenmomcat is still facing surgery and radiation therapy, and probably (anti-)hormone therapy after that.
We came home from the doctor and promptly notified various parents about the results, and then queenmomcat went off swimming, something she hasn't been able to do for the last several days because of the potential for bleeding from the biopsy site. I spent some time online (part of it researching breast cancer) and did some dishes. And then it was off to queenmomcat's second medical appointment of the day.
Yes, to add insult to injury (or injury to insult), queenmomcat was scheduled to have her last remaining wisdom tooth removed this afternoon. That, at least, went relatively smoothly, to the point of making me jealous: I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed at one go, and it was not fun.
I was ready for a nap after all of that, and I took a (comparatively short) one. In the early evening, I ran some errands: picking up prescriptions for queenmomcat, getting something soft but nutritious for her to have for dinner, and buying some stuff we'll need when new cat Bongo is dropped off tomorrow. I also got a sandwich and a salad for my own dinner, as neither of us is in a proper state to cook.
It's been a pretty quiet evening since then, perhaps understandably. I have a subbing assignment tomorrow, so I'll probably go off to bed early tonight. After today, both of us could use some sleep, but who knows if we'll get it.
