Very busy day today, and not helped by the fact that I'm coming down with (or already have) a chest cold. I'm coughing a lot and wheezing a little, so I think it's fair to say I'm sick. I'll see if it goes away on its own -- if not, I'll be calling the doctor soon.
Anyways, I got up early this morning to open the book store. What with my chest cold and the fact that it was raining, I drove in. Tuesdays are new release days in the book world, so I clocked in at 9:30 AM in the hope of getting the new books out before opening the store. No such luck. It took me an hour and a half to get all of the new releases out (and there were a lot of them), by which time the store had been open for an hour. At least the morning was quiet enough that I was able to get the new books out and displayed without too many interruptions.
I had a brief breathing space between that and the day's shipment arriving, and thankfully the shipment itself was pretty small. Thankfully, because I actually had a quite a few customers in the afternoon. It ended up being a pretty good day for sales, all things considered. Still, I had time to finally finish Where They Found Her (11/2,765). I was able to close the store on time (at 6:00 PM) and drive myself home, but I arrived back home exhausted.
I spent some time on the computer, just messing about, although I did take the opportunity to balance the checkbook. Still, I'm not feeling entirely well and I'm tired from the busy day, which I worked mainly solo. (The owner was in for a meeting with a sales rep and to do some other stuff, but she came in after I'd put out the new releases and left in the early afternoon.) And now I think it's time for an early bed time. I do have to work at the book store tomorrow, but I don't have to be there until noon, so I can sleep in a little bit.
