I was actually awoken early this morning by a thunderstorm, but it passed quickly and I went back to sleep for a while. The world I woke to later was gray and dismal, and it stayed that way all day. Still, it wasn't a hideous day, all things considered.
For starters, I finished Faithful and Virtuous Night (10/2,439), which I found to be a strong albeit slightly confusing book. (Glück was apparently speaking throughout in someone else's voice, a choice that's fine, but I would have preferred some warning.) Also, our Federal tax refund hit our checking account today, which was quick. But that was about it for news for the day.
I once again spent the afternoon staring at my computer to no particular avail, although like Tuesday I didn't take a nap, which is a minor victory. Dinner tonight was roast lamb with potatoes and spinach, which means shepherd's pie sometime soon as well. I also did some dishes while dinner was cooking (mainly silverware), so I can pretend today wasn't a total waste. This still hasn't been a great week, though. If only I could get some writing done . . .
