Up mid-morning, and my stomach was feeling much better. We repacked our bags and checked out of the hotel well before check-out time, which is a pleasant change for us. I seem to be able to get up and going earlier every time we come here.
In any case, we took our usual end-of-trip journey out to Wicker Park to check out the offerings at Myopic Books, and as usual queenmomcat found quite a few books while I contented myself with one -- a volume of poetry from one of my professors at UIC. Followed from there lunch at Francesca's Forno, followed by coffee at Brü. I read some more of Will Starling at the latter establishment, and I'm still enjoying it.
Back to the hotel to gather our bags, and then off to the Union Station to catch our train back home. Once again, the train boarded from the Great Hall instead of the usual waiting room, a change I heartily approve of. The train itself left on time and got into our little town on time, with no delays, which is an unusual and welcome occurrence.
Usually, we would have eaten dinner in the pizza place at the train station, but they were quoting a forty-five minute waiting period, so we just went home and ordered a pizza for delivery instead. The cat, of course, was happy to see us, and I expect she'll be very snuggy tonight. Anyways, queenmomcat and I have spent most of the evening catching up online and petting the cat, and we'll probably be off to bed late tonight. I have work tomorrow, but I don't have to be there until noon, so it's all good.
