Up early for subbing, and today turned out to be one of the best days I've had at that job. Since half of the eighth grade is away in Washington DC, the decision was made to give the kids left behind a treat and take them on a field trip to the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo. It was a delightful trip. The kids were all well-behaved for the bus ride out and the presentations they were required to attend. The bus ride back was a little louder than the one out, but it wasn't too bad. The exhibits at the Air Zoo were interesting, and the rides were a hoot. I was even convinced to try out a flight simulator with one the students. (It was a two-person ride and no one would partner up with this one student, so I went along with him.) A good time was had by all.
As I was driving home afterwards, it started snowing, and it continued for a couple of hours, although without any significant accumulation. We've really been luck so far this winter, especially compared to last year. Anyways, once back home, I spent some time online and then took a nap. Dinner was a pot roast that queenmomcat had prepared in the crock pot while I was away. And now I'm up late again. I have the feeling that tomorrow is going to be demanding, but I should be ready for it.
