Up early this morning to open the book store. We got more snow overnight, but it had stopped by the time I had to walk to work. It was still bitter cold, though, and my cheeks were burning a little by the time I to to the store. My face was kind of sore too. (Insert rimshot here.)
It was a very slow day today at the book store. I did have some things to do, like putting books in purchase orders, but I ended up with a lot of free time. I spent some of that time starting to read anotehr ARC: this time a YA novel called Monstrous by MarcyKate Connolly. So far, it seems interesting, although I have to keep reminding myself that the styles is not overly simplistic, it's just written for kids.
My ankle was feeling pretty good at the end of the day, and I didn't want to drag queenmomcat out into the cold, so I walked home. The evening thereafter was a quiet one spend hunkered down at home. I'll probably be headed off to bed early -- the upstairs, including our bedroom, is significantly warmer than the downstairs, where I am now -- but I have tomorrow off. School will be closed for Presidents Day, and I'm not scheduled to work at the book store, so I'll be free. Maybe my recent burst of poetic productivity will continue. I can always hope.
