So, a very Merry Christmas to those of you still reading this who celebrate it, and I hope you have a lovely day to those who don't. I got up mid-morning, and queenmomcat and I spent some time unpacking our stockings and opening presents. As usual, there were a good number of books in the mix, as well as some lovely handcrafted winter wear, a new digital camera, some nice clothing for queenmomcat, and some catnip for Zazu.
Traditionally, queenmomcat and I would spend part of Christmas morning cooking and then gorging on scones and muffins, but since I'm doing the low-carb thing, that was out. Instead, we had a nice brunch of eggs and sausage. With some modifications, that may become a new tradition.
I started some laundry in the afternoon, and while that was going, I put a duck in the oven to roast for several hours. With all that squared away, I took a nap. I got up in time to prepare some creamed onions and spinach to go with the duck, and in the end, queenmomcat had a nice, quiet, somewhat festive dinner. Tomorrow, it's back to the book store, but after that I have a week completely off. I also have some projects to take care of that I've been putting off for while. Time to get some things done!
