Up late morning. I would have slept in even later, but our next-door neighbor and frequent catsitter called over to ask me help in dealing with a bird in her basement. The problem was essentially self-solving: as soon as the door out of the basement and the door to the outside were opened, the bird flew out on its own. So that was my start to the day.
Early in the afternoon, I stopped by the book store to pick up my paycheck. It was warm outside or a change, which was very pleasant indeed. After I got back home, I took advantage of the warm weather to chip a path in the ice sheet that covers most of the back end of our driveway. By this time, queenmomcat had arrived home from swimming with her back, unfortunately, spasming. I got her settled her in on the sofa with an ice pack, the heating pad, and a few other things, and then I went out grocery shopping on my lonesome.
Shopping for groceries was pretty much the high spot for the rest of the day. After getting home and putting everything away, I updated my LiveJournal and then took a long nap. In the evening, we had shepherd's pie for dinner and then spent some time turning the clocks ahead. Since then, things have been quiet, and we'll probably head off to bed soon. After all, it is an hour later than it feels.
